The grade 7 Tech Ed program will focus on familiarizing students with all areas of the Tech Ed lab. These will include: Graphic Communications, Metalworking, and Woodworking. An emphasis will be placed on shop safety and proper use of tools and equipment.
The grade 8 Tech Ed program will start with a review of safety, machine processes and drafting technical drawings. Students will explore the majority of the woodworking machines in this course.
The grade 9 Tech Ed program is designed for the student who excels in Tech Ed and is considering a career in manufacturing or a skilled trade. Several types of welding are introduced and practiced, along with sheet metal fabrication. Woodworking skills and processes are advanced, business management skills will be introduced. The Graphic communications area is expanded into sign making.
